Sliding or hinged

Sliding shutters take no floor space to open, which makes them the right answer in a smaller bedroom where a swinging door would foul the bed. The trade-off is that you only ever see half the wardrobe at once, and the track needs occasional cleaning. Hinged shutters give you the whole interior in one view and cost less, but need clear space in front. We will tell you which suits the room rather than defaulting to whichever is dearer.

Using the full height

Most bedrooms waste the metre between the top of the wardrobe and the ceiling. A loft unit built into the same run turns that into real storage for suitcases and seasonal bedding, and — just as importantly — closes the gap so dust has nowhere to settle. Lofts can be built with the wardrobe or added to an existing one.

Internals that match what you own

A wardrobe full of the wrong-sized shelves is wasted money. We plan the internals around what actually goes in: long hanging for sarees and coats, short hanging doubled up for shirts, drawers for folded clothes, a lockable section for documents and jewellery, and a mirror inside or on the shutter. Say what you keep and we will lay it out around that.

Common questions

Sliding or hinged — which is better?
Sliding if floor space in front is tight; hinged if you have room, since it costs less and shows the whole interior at once.
Can you add a loft above an existing wardrobe?
Usually yes. We measure the gap and build the loft to match the existing shutters as closely as the original finish allows.
Can I get a locker inside the wardrobe?
Yes — a lockable drawer or compartment for documents and jewellery is a standard option.
